Why We Chose Vegan

Every family business has a story. Ours changed forever because of one journey.

For over four decades, our family has celebrated Indian craftsmanship through timeless sarees and ethnic wear. But one unexpected discovery challenged everything we believed about luxury, tradition, and responsibility.

What began as a family business became a mission — to create beautiful fashion that celebrates tradition without causing harm to any living being.

THE JOURNEY THAT
CHANGED EVERYTHING

In 2004, we travelled to Bengaluru to understand the silk manufacturing process.

Until then, we had only seen the finished fabric—beautiful, elegant, and timeless.

But seeing the process with our own eyes deeply shocked us. We returned home with heavy hearts and a question we could no longer ignore.

Can we continue selling silk after knowing what we had seen?

That journey changed the direction of our business forever.

Instead of asking, "How can we continue selling silk?", we began asking, "Can we create the same beauty without harming living beings?"

That question became our purpose.

SEARCHING FOR A
BETTER ALTERNATIVE

Vegan Silk is completely free from animal-derived silk. Our fabrics are made using natural and alternative silk-like fibres such as viscose and other innovative materials that recreate the beauty and drape of traditional silk without harming silkworms..

WHAT IS
VEGAN SILK?

Vegan Silk is completely free from animal-derived silk. Our fabrics are made using natural and alternative silk-like fibres such as viscose and other innovative materials that recreate the beauty and drape of traditional silk without harming silkworms.

WHY WE DON'T
USE AHIMSA SILK

Although Ahimsa Silk does not intentionally kill silkworms during extraction, it still uses silkworm cocoons. It depends on breeding silkworms and using them to produce silk. We believe animals should not be treated as resources for fashion.
